Unpaid: Free labor creates an abusive culture that disproportionally benefits talent from affluent families.

sad face

Unstructured: Grunt tasks, fire drills, and boondoggles masquerading as opportunities only nurture a toxic culture of chaos.

sad face

Unaccountable Guidance: Creatives or account executives with Stockholm syndrome unwittingly passing bad habits and toxic practices to the next generation.

Paid: We pay $10/hr for months 1-3, $15/hr for months 4-6. We also pay for PTO and 100% of benefits.

Structured Projects and Real Work: Interns are responsible for real work, and are also given mandatory portfolio building projects.

Accountable Mentorship: Part of our mentors’ compensation is directly tied to the growth and outcomes of our interns.

our mentors will push you

Navigating this industry demands building great relationships with recruiters.

We encourage our interns to network with recruiters with a long history in the industry. We teach interns how recruiters are compensated, and how trusted recruiters help match interns with their ideal city or dream agency. If you would like your name added to our list of recruiters, get in touch with us.

attention: we don't take kindly to bad-faith-recruiters trying to exploit our generosity. Thanks in advance for being a good person.

academy funding

Six months of salary and benefits costs us about $20,000 to train each intern. Through recruiter and client relationships, we naively hope to create a fund that sustains 6+ interns every six months.

1.

Don't be shy, buy a campaign.

Interns are free to promote their work on their portfolio. If a brand or agency likes a campaign, we gladly accept cash donations into the fund. Or you can recruit the intern. Or you can hire the agency.

2.

Recruit one of our interns.

If you want to recruit one of our interns, we respectfully ask that you go through one of our trusted recruiters. They are trusted 3rd party matchmakers that don't exploit our talent and also donate a portion of the fee back to the academy.

Buckle up. Our alumni describe the academy as a safe place to be uncomfortable. A launch pad that taught them the discipline to be professionals, the speed to get the job done, and the courage to fail forward.
